MAJESTIC PERUVIAN CHAMP

Huacaya Herdsire (Male) Medium Fawn

AOA# 32825060 DOB: 9/25/201310 yrs
Champ greatly increases the amount of fleece (over the dam) on every one of his crias. This Jumanji x Royal Fawn stud is stamping his image on every cria. His daughter's 2023 2nd shearings: Magically 5.6# blanket; Sweeetheart 5.2 # blanket, It's A Secret 5.0# blanket. They have looks, density, staple length, high brightness and well defined crimp...just breed them to more fineness or the Snowmass lines with low SDs. His 2021 fleece still looks fantastic! We acquired Mayflower from 3Ds' Alpacas when they retired winter 2023. She is a very pretty female with a larger frame (Hemingway was "compact") and who keeps some weight on and has a good sized attitude (also a known Hemingway trait). She postures...a lot...at people and at other alpacas...at least she's consistent. She does not spit, kick, fight or anything like that and she's getting better since her arrival here, but this girl must have her bubble...like she knows she's something special. We call it the alpaca "don't touch the merchandise" personality.

Take a look at her EPDs. There are four doses of Hemingway in Mayflower's pedigree...positioned in each of her grandparent's lineages. The well-known Brummet's at Hobby Horse Alpacas bred a double Hemingway son, Accoyo America Synergy ( 6P Accoyo Sicuani line), to a double Hemingway female with Vengador lines. Many breeders believe that it takes at least a little Hemingway to achieve uniform extreme fineness and crimp character consistently in successive generations. I somewhat agree, but other lines have that too.

So, Mayflower is unrelated to the Matrix, Caligula and Legacy lines. Ten+ years ago she would have been a must have for lots of breeders. But, she's here now and we're going to see what she can do.

Mayflower appears to be solid white and her EPDs are as you would expect...she is above the top 2.xx% for the first five traits and low on medullation and good for fleece weight too. Her AOA COI is listed at 14.1%. On paper, she's a total of 56.25% Hemingway.

She has one registered cria from 2021. She is slightly overweight now (spring 2023) and so no worries with a skinny mama.

For her 2023 breeding, we have Majestic Peruvian Champ here and he is unrelated to Mayflower in the pedigree. If all the best from both of these gorgeous parents comes together in that cria, I can only imagine a massive fleece machine with an exquisite fine, crimpy and bright fleece...hoping for a light fawn color!
